ACP Converter Phase B – Emergency Ring Repair

The Phase B Converter at Anglo Platinum’s ACP Plant in Rustenburg, South Africa, is scheduled for a ring rebuild in 2024 due to the furnace refractory’s condition and the campaign life duration.

Slag Cleaning Furnace No.1 Rebuild & Cooling Water Upgrade 2025

The Anglo-American Slag Cleaning Furnace (SCF) at the Waterval Metallurgical Complex in Northwest has historically been maintained on a biennial basis. The objective of the SCF1 Rebuild planned for January 2025 is to partially replace the Full Ring and skews of the furnace by demolition of all refractory and subsequent components from within the furnace and replacing them with new refractory and components.

Domento was awarded the contract in March of 2023 for the supply, fabrication and erection of the 3 new x temporary chimney’s at Kusile power station, the stack is free-standing circular in shape and reach a staggering 116 meters in height, Domento was awarded additionally the horizontal ducting that interconnects the existing ducting to the new stacks.
